How it works

  1. Create in the appAn entitled team owner names the team. Berrynook prepares the shared folder and shelves.
  2. Invite by Proton emailEach person gets a timed join link (7 days) bound to their address — no open share codes.
  3. They joinMatching email and an active Pass. Then accept from Cloud in the app.
  4. Work in your workspaceOpen Files lands in the shared folder. Office, Music, Memories, and Talk live at berrynook.cc.

What you get

Inside the shared folder: Music, Music Sheets, Timeline, and Shared docs. In your workspace you can use Files, Office, Memories, Talk, and (optionally) a calendar your team owner shares with the group.

The app is for membership and doors — create, invite, leave, open the right place. Living in the team happens in your workspace.

  • The shared folder has its own quota — 5 GB or 80 GB from Team hosting (matches the owner’s Pass 5 / Pass 80 tier). Each member’s Solo Pass is for VPN and personal cloud only
  • Workspace-first on purpose — membership in the app; files and Office in the browser over VPN

Passes, Team hosting, and gifts

Everyone needs their own Solo Pass (VPN + personal cloud). A team is optional shared storage on top — paid separately as Team hosting.

Solo Pass — buy on Plans

Joining a team still requires an active Pass. Buy or renew on Plans (30–360 days). From the Berrynook app, Get a 30-day pass and View plans open this page with your Proton email filled in.

Team hosting — app, then browser

Team owners need Team hosting to create and keep a shared folder (prepaid, same term discounts as Solo). In the app under Cloud: Add Team hosting… or Renew Team hosting… → pay on gate.berrynook.cc. New signups can add Team hosting on Plans in the same checkout as their Pass.

  • Hosting is a shared folder and invites — not member Passes and not Berryporch video calls
  • Hosting includes a team pool (5 GB or 80 GB) — separate from members’ personal Pass storage
  • Members still buy or receive their own Solo Pass; hosting does not pay for them

Gift Passes — app, then browser

Anyone signed in can Gift a Pass to a Proton email (Solo Pass for 30–360 days). Team owners can also run Team hosting and Gift Passes… to pay for hosting plus gifted Passes for guests in one browser checkout.

  • Same Solo list pricing as Plans (Pass 5 / Pass 80, USD)
  • Payment always finishes in the browser — the app opens checkout, then you return to the app
  • Gifts to new users are held up to 7 days, then refunded if unused
  • A gift is not a team invite — join links still come from the team owner

Questions

I opened an invite with the wrong email

Sign in to the Berrynook app with the Proton address named in the invite, then accept again. The link only works for that address.

My invite link expired

Ask the team owner to send a new invite. Links last 7 days and can only be used once.

What happens if I leave or get removed?

You lose access to the shared folder. Files already there stay for everyone who remains — we don’t wipe the team’s files.

Do I need a Pass before I join?

Yes — an active Pass before join completes. Buy your own on Plans, or ask your team owner to Gift a Pass to your Proton email.

Where do I pay for Team hosting or gift Passes?

In the Berrynook app under Cloud → Manage team (⋯). Team owners use Add / Renew Team hosting or Team hosting and Gift Passes…; anyone can use Gift a Pass…. Checkout opens in your browser on gate.berrynook.cc — not inside the app. Solo Passes for yourself are on Plans.

Whose storage do team files use?

Files in the shared folder use the team pool — 5 GB or 80 GB, set from the team owner’s Pass tier when they bought Team hosting. Each member’s Solo Pass covers their own personal cloud only.
